ACT 3 · FAMILY WEEKEND

When Sterling came to Denver.

Riley's parents and sister flew in from Sterling, CO. The A-Line, the Curtis Hotel, the Mall Ride - and brunch at Olive & Finch inside the Performing Arts Complex. Then they walked back across the street home.

Brunch at Olive & Finch

My parents flew in from Sterling. Morgan saw the free Mall Ride bus and lost her mind. Dad insisted on the Curtis Hotel - said "a college kid's apartment is no place for a man my size to sleep."

Olive & Finch - 17th & Tremont, inside the Performing Arts Complex. You walk up, order at the counter, they bring it to the table. Glass case full of scratch-made, artisan-baked stuff. Dad got the lemon ricotta french toast and said it "tasted like a poem about Sunday." He's never said anything like that in his life.

Then we walked. Across the street. Home. That's the whole pitch.
